Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 18 August 2026
These website and service terms apply to Duro Electrics (ABN 75 811 700 967, NSW Contractor Licence 314705C). By using this website or accepting a quote, you agree to these terms together with the specific written quote, scope and any approved variations. If there is an inconsistency, the written quote or agreed variation will apply.
WEBSITE INFORMATION
Website content is general information only. We aim to keep it accurate, but it is not electrical, engineering or safety advice for a particular property. Do not carry out electrical work yourself. Contact a licensed electrician and call emergency services where there is an immediate danger.
QUOTES AND SCOPE
A quote covers only the work, labour, materials and assumptions stated in it and remains valid for the period shown. Conditions that could not reasonably be identified before work begins, including concealed wiring, access issues, hazardous materials or supply authority requirements, may require a revised quote or variation.
VARIATIONS
Changes to the scope, materials, access, timing or site conditions may change the price and completion time. Wherever practical, we will explain and obtain approval for a variation before carrying it out. Urgent work reasonably required to make an electrical installation safe may be handled as permitted by law.
ACCESS AND CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
You must provide safe and reasonable access to the work area, disclose known hazards and relevant property information, secure pets and personal items, and ensure authorised persons can approve decisions. Delays or extra work caused by restricted access, inaccurate information or other trades may result in additional reasonable charges.
MATERIALS AND CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED ITEMS
We may select suitable compliant materials unless particular products are specified. Customer-supplied fittings or equipment must be suitable, complete and compliant. We are not responsible for defects in customer-supplied items, but this does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
TIMING
Dates and timeframes are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise. Weather, supply delays, hidden conditions, access, network requirements and events outside reasonable control may affect timing. We will communicate material delays where reasonably possible.
PAYMENT
Payment terms, deposits and progress payments are stated in the quote or invoice. Amounts must be paid by the due date. We may pause work for overdue amounts where permitted by law after giving reasonable notice. You are responsible for reasonable recovery costs only to the extent allowed by law.
CANCELLATIONS
Please give reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Reasonable costs already incurred for ordered materials, completed work or committed labour may be payable where permitted by law. Any specific cancellation terms will be shown in the quote.
SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE
Electrical work will be performed by appropriately licensed persons and in accordance with applicable requirements. We may refuse or stop work where conditions are unsafe, unlawful or outside the agreed scope. Relevant compliance documentation will be provided where required.
CONSUMER GUARANTEES
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services are provided with due care and skill, are fit for an agreed purpose and are supplied within a reasonable time where no time is set. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from website use or matters outside our reasonable control. Any limitation is subject to the Australian Consumer Law and other non-excludable rights.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Website text, branding, photographs and graphics are owned by or licensed to Duro Electrics and may not be copied or reused without permission, except as allowed by law.
PRIVACY
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Before starting formal proceedings, each party should try to resolve a dispute in good faith.
